LIVE TEXT COMMENTARY

13:30 An engaging contest and a deserved win for Oxford.

13:29  FULL-TIME

13:27  Double sub for Oxford. Desai on for Hall and Flood on for Squires.

13:25  We have 4 minutes of added time . . . Cambridge have come to life.

13:24  Cambridge get their chance. They break well after the corner but the resulting shot rolls gently to Whylly.

13:23 Kelly nearly kills the game off for Oxford but Ferguson saves well. Oxford hit the post from the resulting corner.

13:22  This game is fizzling out, where is our grande finale?

13:20  Some people are waving their shoes above their heads . . .

13:18  Cambridge sub: Harrison on for Baxter.

13:16  A hopeful punt from Cambridge drifts out of play. Oxford fare looking armchair comfortable at the moment.

13:14  Cambridge Sub: Hartley on for Burrows.

13:12  Oxford captain Wherry makes an important diving clearance. This might just be the start of a final big push from the Light Blues.

13:10  Amos' looping header is brilliantly saved by Whylly.

13:08  Cambridge captain Rutt is down and the physio is coming on. A chance for a breather. Cambridge have quarter of an hour to come up with a goal. They are going to need to pick things up.

13:06 Another great chance for Toogood, who skies it from just inside the box. This is much more like the first-half, with Oxford in charge. Will they be made to pay for these missed chances?

13:04  Great chance for Oxford to wrap things up. They have 3 on 2 and Knight plays Toogood through. But he pulls the ball back when he should really have shot.

13:02  Ferguson claims well from an Oxford free-kick.

13:00  A Cambridge corner comes to nothing.

12:58  Amos tricks his way into the Oxford box but his cross is easily cut out.

12:56  McCrickerd kicks the ball away and gets a telling-off from Mr Webb.

12:54  Cambridge are pushing hard. Rutt puts in a cross from the left and Whylly has to tip it over.

12:51  So close. Burrows gets on the end of the corner but it hits team-mate Amos on the line.

12:50  Cross in from the left and Whylly fumbles it under pressure but its scrapped behind for a corner.

12:48  Cambridge break but Rutt fails to control the ball and it runs out of play.

12:46 Cambridge sub: Day on for Hakimi

12:44  Whylly punches a cross clear and manages to give Amos another thump.

12:42  If the first-half was pedestrian, this is snail-like. . .

12:40 And we're off again

12:23  HALF-TIME

12:22  Oxford free-kick from 30 yards has Ferguson scrambling and just misses the upright

12:20  A half-decent call for a Cambridge penalty. A fairly agricultural challenge on Johnson but Howard is not interested.

12:18  We have 3 minutes of injury time. I have no idea where this number has come from.

12:16 Toogood cuts it back to McCrickerd who curls his shot wide. Oxford have had all the chances.

12:14  McCrickerd lights up proceedings with a great bit of skill to beat two players. Suddenly a sense of urgency about both sides as we approach the interval.

12:12  A scramble in the Cambridge box but the ball is finally cleared.

12:10  Toogood is denied by a finger-tip save from the flying Ferguson.

12:07  The pace at the moment is that of a leisurely summer stroll.

12:05  Whylly, who has been rock-solid so far, comfortably deals with a hopeful cross.

12:03  Great chance for Oxford but Kelly directs his header across goal. They look the most likely to score at the moment.

12:01  Cambridge's defence not only fail to clear, but two defenders end up on their backsides. McCrickerd blasts over.

11:59  We now have aerial ping pong.

11:56 Stark has Cambridge's best chance so far but can't lift it over Whylly.

11:55 A scruffy tackle-fest in the middle. Howard steps in to put an end to it.

11:52  A very respectable crowd and people are still coming in. Little for them to get excited about at the moment.

11:49 Early candidate for worst miss of the day. Oxford break and Hall misses an absolute sitter from 6 yards.

11:48  Cambridge with lots of possession but very little penetration.

11:46  No nonsense keeping from Whylly., winning the ball and giving Amos  a considerable thump in the process.  The physio is on. The Oxford "ladz" are not sympathetic.

11:44  First effort from Cambridge, a tame shot from Johnson.

11:42  GOAL Oxford 1 Cambridge 0
Great ball though the middle from McCrickerd and HALL places his shot neatly into the bottom right. This should liven things up.

11:40  A Cambridge corner comes to nothing.

11:37  A corner to Oxford nearly gives us our first goal. No marking, free header and Ferguson has to be alert to make a good save down to his right.

11:36  A small group of Oxford fans are making a valiant attempt to create a bit of atmosphere. A slow start.

11:34  And we're off

11:30  Today's ref is none other than Howard Webb, widely considered the best ref in the land.

11:29  Starting line-ups
Oxford: Whylly, Farr, Squires, Hodgson, Wherry (c)), Weston, McCrickerd, Knight, Toogood, Kelly, Hall
Cambridge: Ferguson, Maynard, Little, Hakimi, Brown, Burrows, Baxter, Stark, Amos Johnson, Rutt (c)

11:28  The teams are out and its national anthem time.

11:22  Ground is not very full but there is a bit of a buzz building. The Zutons are booming from the speakers.

11:17  Oxford are looking to break a sequence of three consecutive Cambridge wins. Both sides have enjoyed pretty similar seasons, Oxford winning 13 of 21, Cambridge 11 of 24 and both losing on 7 occasions.

11:15  The overall record: Oxford Wins - 48, Cambridge Wins - 49, Draws -27, Oxford Goals: 196, Cambridge Goals - 197. Couldn't be much closer. . .
